Southwest Interface Solutions (SWISCO) was established
in the winter of 2001 by Daniel Montaño and Raul Padilla.
The company was created to address the need for forest
restoration  throughout New Mexico and the West.

Currently SWISCO offers services for thinning or
Hazardous Fuels Reduction, forest/ range pre-fire
suppression, and forest/range rehabilitation. The company
also offers other forest and range improvement services
such as invasive species control and forest pest control.
As owner/operators of SWISCO, as well as former Crew
Supervisors for the NM Forestry Division Inmate Work
Camp, Daniel Montaño and Raul Padilla have managed
projects and crews in extreme working environments.
Daniel and Raul have a combined experience of 14
years in the fields of forestry and wildland fire and have
managed crews on incidents such as wildfires, floods
and prescribed burns.

8(a) Small Disadvantaged Business

Recently, SWISCO was certified as an 8(a) sdb. This
means that we are recognized by the federal government
as a small minority (Hispanic) owned business. This
certification allows us to compete against larger more
established businesses without having to bid against
them for federal projects. Currently we are the only forest
restoration company from New Mexico and only one of
two working in the state right now in the 8(a) program.
